Pasture

We are a predominately pasture based operation. The animals raised on our operation are moved to fresh pasture regularly. This keeps them moving away from fouling which conrtibutes disease. By doing so, we mitigate the need for things like antibiotics and chemical dewormers. When animals are able to select from the forages that they need, they are able to take in the vitamins and minerals needed to be of highest quality.

Regerative

Another important aspect of our management is to care for our land and therefore soils and plant systems in a regenerative manner which promotes vibrant life. Nature hates a vacuum. We foster biodiversity that provides nutrient richness for plants and animals alike. Plants are encouraged to grow healthy root systems and eliminate bare ground. Soils are being mineralized and microbiology is able to flourish. This opens the door for better forages and therefore more nutritious foods for you and your family.

Natural Model

Our aim is to work in conjunction with nature rather than against it. Following patters and principles that are already set in place allows our operation to succeed with less interference and maintenence. We can time things on a daily, monthly, seasonally, yearly, and so on basis that benefits us and our production.

OUR STORY

"Stewarding the Lord's land and animals, as a family, to produce the

highest quality of food and services for our customers."

Our journey began in 2009 as two kids with a dream to live on a farm together and raise a family. By the grace of God, we are still learning and growing and farming with our family. At Thompson Family Farms we believe it is important to produce a product that we are proud to stand behind as well as the practices we use to get there. We hope to greatly improve the lives of all affected by our business!

Our family consists of Eli, Chrissy, Elise, Cason, Garrett, and Nora. Each contributing with their own unique gifting and skillsets. All members help carry out the working of the operations. The kids each have their own endeavors. Elise has her chicken enterprise in which she sells delicious, nutritious eggs. All of the birds have names and a custom-painted, mobile house. Cason cares for his own Jersey cow, Coco. She has raised him a second milk heifer, Mocha - he carries out the responsibility of milking daily. Garrett has chosen to dive into the world of rabbits. He hopes to learn more about production and care as he develops his markets of meat and pet rabbits. Nora has her own Tamworth gilt that is the proud mama of six.

Thanks for stopping by, we can't wait to hear from you!
